High Pressure Laminate (HPL)
High pressure laminate (HPL) is a thin, man-made composite material made up of many layers. At its core are sheets of paper impregnated with thermosetting resins, typically phenolic, that are bonded together and occasionally reinforced with metal layers or mesh.
It is considered to be one of the most durable decorative surface materials and is available with special performance properties including chemical, fire and wear resistance. Special grades of HPL can be postformed around curved edges by application of heat and restraint.
High Pressure Laminate is often used in both commercial and residential projects as benchtops, vanity tops, tables, counters and more. Because of how HPL is made, it has a higher level of impact resistance than Low Pressure Laminate products, making it great for high traffic areas.
We carry a variety of grades of HPLs, to provide our customer with a greater selection.
